Last Week: Mount Enterprise 34, Overton 12 - Mount Enterprise went scoreless against Overton’s 12 points in the first quarter. But the game’s trajectory took a sharp turn when the Wildcats turned the tables in the second quarter scoring 20 uanswered points over the Mustangs. Overton failed to score again for the remainder of the game while the Wildcats scored two touchdowns in the second half, paving the way for their second district victory in a row and a solid chance for a playoff appearance.
Clarksville 51, Detroit 26 - After a promising start to Detroit’s district season with a 26-6 victory over Overton, the Eagles have struggled, losing big to both Bowie and Clarksville. Their game against Mount Enterprise this week will be critical if they want to have any chance in making it to the post-season.
Next Week: Detroit at Maud, Clarksville at Mount Enterprise.
at Overton (2-6)

Last Week: Mount Enterprise 34, Overton 12 - Overton remained winless in district play last week coming up short against the Mount Enterprise Wildcats 34-12. The Mustangs had a promising start scoring all of their 12 points in the first quarter while holding the line against the Wildcats. Unfortunately for the Mustangs, those 12 points were the only ones they would score all night even as the Wildcats scored 20 in the second quarter and 14 in the second half. The Mustangs’ playoff chances are virtually non-existent at this point. They need to beat Maud if they want any chance.
Bowie 18, Maud 14 - The Cardinals were unable to maintain their halftime lead over the Bowie Pirates in their bid to put at least one win under their belt in the 2018 season. The Cardinals scored a single touchdown in the first half and their subsequent tw0-point conversion put them ahead of the Pirates 8-6 at the half. And though the Cardinals did manage to put up another six points in the second half, the Pirates doubled their number with 12, cinching their victory.
Next Week: Detroit at Maud. Overton at Bowie.
Leverett’s Chapel (5-2)
at High Island (4-2)
3 p.m. Saturday, High Island
Coaches: Leverett’s Chapel - Matt Everett. High Island - Matt Miracle
Players to Watch: Leverett’s Chapel - QB Walter Jones, RB Darren Brown and WR Jonah Sheppard. High Island - QB Milo Malinchalk, DE Hunter Guerin, RB Billy Palmer, OLB Ethan Rodriguez, TE Jimmy McManus, C Junior Stewart
Last Week: Leverett’s Chapel 56, Fruitvaile 26 - After a massive 78-6 loss to Union Hill on October 19, Leverett’s Chapel returned to their more typical winning ways with a 56-26 win over the Fruitvale Bobcats. The High Island Cardinals also beat the Bobcats by a razor thin 7-point margin, so they will likely be a slightly tougher matchup for the Lions. But the 5-2 Leverett’s Chapel squad remains a safe bet for victory.
Union Hill 52, High Island 7 - Like the Lions, the High Island Cardinals only managed a single touchdown against the Union Hill Bulldogs. But their defense held the Bulldogs to a significantly lower tally than the Lions’ managed. The Bulldogs scored 78 points on the Lions on October 19, but only managed to score 52 on the Cardinals. If the Cardinals’ defense can step up and prevent the Lions from reaching the end zone with any sort of regularity, they could stand a decent chance of picking up a win.
Next Week: Leverett’s Chapel at High Island. Union Hill at Fruitvale
