The Tatum Lady Eagles (now 24-4) swept the Mineola Lady Jackets in three sets Nov. 2 in the area round of the playoffs in White House, as Abby Sorenson powered the team with 40 assists. 

Tatum won 25-19, 25-15, and 25-9. 

Paisley Williams added two digs, while Summer Dancy-Vasquez had 12 digs, nine serve attempts, and one ace. 

Kaylei Stroud came in with nine kills, 25 hitting attempts, 10 digs, 11 serve attempts, and one ace, while Kayla Jones had 11 kills, 14 hitting attempts, one block, six digs, 11 serve attempts, and one ace. 

Janiya Kindle took the court with three kills, three hitting attempts, and two digs. Kensi Greenwood added one kill, three hitting attempts, and two digs. 

Kerrigan Biggs contributed six kills, nine hitting attempts, and four digs. 

Macy Brown finished with 12 kills, 18 hitting attempts, 11 digs, and eight serve attempts, while Sorenson added three kills, three hitting attempts, eight digs, and 17 serve attempts.

“I thought we played really good defense and I thought that we served particularly well,”  Coach Levin Barker said. 

Tatum plays Sabine in the next round on Thursday night at 6:30 PM at Hallsville.  “It should be a good one,” Barker added.
