MT. ENTERPRISE – Brett Roland hit seven long-range bombs en route to a 28-point performance as the Carlisle Indians barreled through the Overton Mustangs 56-32 in the opening round of the Michael Nix Tournament Thursday.
Roland, with a quick-trigger release, was hardly to the three-point arch before letting loose with a high-arching shot virtually unguarded.
It was close for only the first quarter as the Indians held a 12-8 lead. That increased to 29-14 at the half. Carlisle went on to score 15 points in the third quarter and 12 in the fourth quarter to put away the Mustangs.
Alex Garza chipped in 13 points for the Indians.
Cole Marshall led the Mustangs with 16 points and Logan Reddie chipped in 10 points.

Longview CH 24
Diesel Ferguson scored 16 points for Mt. Enterprise as the Wildcats easily handled Longview Christian Heritage 44-24 in the nightcap of the Michael Nix Tournament Thursday.
The Wildcat defense held Longview to single digits throughout the contest, while scoring 14, 11 and 10 points respectively in the final three quarters of the game.
Collin Reeves chipped in 10 points for the Wildcats.
Walls had six points off the bench to lead LCH while Horn added five points and Carson and Owens each added four points.
The Laneville Lady Yellowjackets were reduced to just five players Thursday with the aid of a flubug hitting teammates, but managed to complete their opening round game at the Michael Nix Tournament.
The Lady Yellowjackets hung in the first quarter trailing 15-12, but fatigue set in by the end of the half as they only managed four points and trailing 23-16.
Haley Beasley led Longview with 20 points, followed by MaKenna Kaunitz with 12 points.
