TRINITY - Fighting through cold, windy and wet conditions, the Carlisle Indians used only 10 plays to explode to a 33-0 lead in the first quarter and cruised to an easy 74-14 Class 2A victory over Evadale here Friday night.

LONGVIEW - The Tatum Lady Eagles swept the New Diana Lady Eagles 3-0 in Bi-District Volleyball play Tuesday night at Lobo Arena at Longview High School. The Lady Eagles won convincingly 25-10, 25-12, and 25-19 to advance.

Despite the playoffs being out of reach, the Henderson Lions came to compete for their final game of the season against the Jacksonville on Thursday night. It came down to a scoring frenzy in the fourth quarter which ended in a disappointing 44-35 loss. 

In the battle for second place in the district and for playoff scheduling, the Tatum Eagles, 6-4 (4-1) defeated the Atlanta Rabbits, 7-3 (3-2), 63-27. 

Having already clinched the District 11-2A title, the Carlisle Indians will be playing for a perfect 10-0 season when they travel to Alto Thursday night. 

In OT, the Jefferson Bulldogs defeated the Tatum Eagles 30-28 in district action this past weekend. The Jefferson defense proved effective and slowed down the Tatum offense while there were also missed assignments for the Eagles on both sides of the ball.

The Overton Lady Mustangs traveled to Rusk and took on Timpson to win their Bi-District playoff round on Monday night. They won in three sets, 25-23, 25-15 and 25-12. Kayla Nobles (#11) led the team in kills with 10 - also netting one block, three digs and four aces. 

The Lady Lions rose to the occasion on Tuesday night, beating Chapel Hill in three sets to secure fourth place in the district and a playoff spot. Their first round will open with a game against Bullard on Monday night at 6 p.m. at Arp High School.
