There are times in my life that I hate that I’m a working mom and times that I love it.

I love the small break of time that I have to myself even if it does stress me out at times. My job is, for the most part, laid back except for two days a week where I’m nonstop busy all day.

I love being a working mom because that means I get adult interaction. Last year at this time I was home on maternity leave and it was the longest eight weeks of my life because it was just me and a baby all day long. I am the type of person that needs to talk to someone often.

I will often tell too much about my personal life, but that’s only because it’s usually comical or interesting to some.

Times I hate being a working mom is when Presley does something for the first time.

I haven’t missed much of her firsts but at times I do miss some.

Right now I fear that I’m going to miss her walking since the most I’ve seen her do is take four steps. Her day care works with her in trying to get her to walk and I know she’s going to take off when I’m not there.

I am thankful she goes to the day care she does because they send me pictures and texts whenever something happens.

Another time I hate that I’m a working mom is when I’m just exhausted from life and want to stay home with my girl and cuddle.

Everyone has that day or week where nothing goes in your favor and you just want to give up and start over in a few days. That was this past week, my work computer crashed and that just sent everything down hill. But I got over it and went to work and will probably spend most of this weekend on my couch doing nothing but playing with Presley.

Although I have mixed feelings about working, I am thankful every day that I am able to.

I am thankful that we don’t live off of only Chris’s income and that I can help out too.

Lastly, I am thankful for Presley as she makes every day better for me no matter how it went.

My best friend started posting every day on Facebook three things that she was thankful for and it has inspired me. I won’t be posting my thankfuls on Facebook but I have been writing them down at home.

Some days it’s something as simple as coffee and some days it’s something more complex but I am working on it.

I have only done this for a couple days now and looking back at that few days and things I have written down, shows me I have so much to be thankful for this year.

Thinking about things I’m thankful for helps me get in the Thanksgiving mood since my family has a little tradition we do. Every year when we sit down to eat we have a charger plate that has our name on it and we write on it one to three things we are most thankful for from the year and then date it.

This year’s Thanksgiving will be a little different since it’s my parents last year in East Texas. We are planning a big gathering this year and it’s probably going to be a little while before I will join them for one again due to the distance.

I love my family and continue to hold them close since in a few months my parents will be seven hours away from me. I never thought they would move away from me and it’s hard to grasp that they will be so far soon.

It makes me feel so blessed that I have Chris and Presley to help me get through it whenever they move back.
