Graveside services with Military Honors for Mr. Larence Soape, 95, of Henderson, was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 at Rusk County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Glen Ketchum officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford - A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson. Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 at the funeral home. Mr. Soape passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 in Henderson. He was born June 15, 1925 in Panola County to the late Douglas William and Nora (Hudson) Soape. Larence grew up in Corsicana State Orphan’s Home, and served his country during the WWII conflict in the US Navy, being drafted at age 17. He worked as a Carman for the railroad for 35 1/2 years. He was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God. Survivors include: wife, Jeanell Soape of Henderson; children, Doug Soape and wife Terry of Marshall, Jo Anne Mills of Tyler, Tommy Soape and wife Robin of Salt Lake City, UT, Stacy Grafton and wife Deborah of Joinerville, and Carla Grafton Chewning and husband Todd of Henderson; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers are: Antonio Grafton, Chase Chewning, Josh Chewning, Brad Soape, Garrett Martin, and Eli Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. John R. Clague, M.D., Todd Chewning, Joel McKinley, Robert Leadon, William Phelps, and Vernon Minor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Children’s Home, P.O.
