Funeral services for Mrs. Joanie Skelton Nations, 59, of Farmersville, were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 at Crawford - A. Crim Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Clint Brown, Bro. Steve Wiseman, and Dr. Rick Martin officiating.

 Interment followed at Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Crawford - A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson. 

Visitation was from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020 at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Nations passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at Medical City of McKinney. 

She was born Nov. 10, 1960 in Henderson. 

Joanie played basketball for Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, being one of the first scorers. 

She loved to cook and write poetry. She had worked as a 911 dispatcher, and was a member of the Farmersville Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her father, coach Joe Clint Skelton.

Survivors include: her husband, Mike Nations of Farmersville; mother, Sue Skelton of Henderson; son, Anthony Nations of Alabama; brothers, Ricki Joe Skelton and wife Shannon of San Angelo, and Jamie Skelton and wife Karen of Henderson; nephews and nieces, Hunter Joe Skelton and wife Taylor and a little one on the way, Haylee Swift and husband Brent, Kelli Skelton, Clay Skelton and wife Bianca, and Katy Skelton; great-niece, Olivia Sage Swift; life-long friend, Sandra Bommarito and husband Bruce of Henderson; and her beloved dogs, Maggie and Noodles. 

Pallbearers were Ricki Joe Skelton, Jamie Skelton, Clay Skelton, Hunter Skelton, David Matheny, and Josh Brown.
