Funeral services for Mr. Charles D. McGill, Sr., 78, of Henderson, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Jason Taylor and Jeff Stanley officiating. Interment followed at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.

The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at the funeral home.

Mr. McGill passed away July 6, 2019 in Tyler. He was born May 28, 1941 in Turnertown to Allen Anguish and Pearlie May Stroud McGill. He served his country in active duty to the United States Navy and was the owner of Aarons Appliance until he retired. Mr. McGill was also a “Singer of Songs” and enjoyed writing and playing songs any time he could.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Allen Anguish McGill; mother, Pearlie May Stroud McGill Strickland; sisters, Lilly Pearl Glenn and Gencie Allene Reagan; and brothers, Cecil McGill and Billy Ray McGill.

He is survived by his wife, Trudy McGill; son, Charles D. McGill, Jr. (Donny McGill) and wife Jessica of Horn Lake, Miss.; son. Lt. Com. Scott Anthony McGill and wife Candice of Converse; daughter, Tonya Heard Davis and husband, Bryan of Henderson; son Shawn Aaron McGill and wife Vickie of Henderson; grandchildren, Mandolin Davis and husband Matt, Maleiah Crockett and husband Connor, Tara Davis, Cullen Davis, Jasmine McGill, Patrisha Pelaez and husband Roberto, Branden McGill, Heather Martinez, Garion McGill, Anna McGill, Chelsea McGill, Brittany Ketchum and husband Justin, Blake McGill, Jamie Alaniz, Ty Belvin and wife Amanda; great-grandchildren, Maverick Davis, Maisyn Davis, Cooper Crockett, Rhiannon Davis, Gunner Davis, Rowan Davis, Brantley Anderson, Noah Pelaez, Nolan Pelaez, Nova Pelaez, Julian Martinez, Kaelyn Ketchum, Karter Ketchum, Tytan Belvin, Ethan Belvin, Brayden Belvin and Camden Belvin;and one brother, James McGill Sr. and wife Scarlett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike Brightwell, Keith Brightwell, Keith Gatlin, Jason Pride, Tracey Fears, and Craig Briscoe. Honorary bearers will be Chuck Jennings, Jimmy White, David Mitchell and Stephen Cochran.
