Mr. Billy King, 69, of Carlisle, passed from this life on November 12, 2019, at UT Health in Tyler. He was born November 20, 1949, in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Arwood and Ruth (Berry) King. Billy grew up in Dallas and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He moved to the Price-Carlisle area in 1983 and worked for several years before his retirement as a Heating and A/C contractor in the Henderson area. Billy had a fierce love for his family and children, and he worshiped his grandchildren. He always had a project and loved visiting with friends. Mr. King was also a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, LaDonna King, and his brother, Charles King.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Monica King of Carlisle; son, Josh King and wife Michelle of Carthage; daughter, Whittney King of Carlisle; brother, Rodney King of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and his beloved grandchildren, Aaden, Noah, and Sutton King of Carthage.
Memorial services for Mr. King will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Patsy Barham officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall at the church.
