On February 1, Dan Moore, Publisher and Editor of The Henderson News will serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors for TPA (Texas Press Association).
Texas Press Association is a trade organization representing more than 450 member newspapers through the common goal of preserving and promoting the future of newspapers in the state. Founded in 1880, TPA is one of the nation’s oldest and largest newspaper trade associations.
“Welcome back to the board. I am so pleased that you’ll (Moore) be back on the team,” said Mike Hodges, TPA Executive Director.
Moore is currently serving as Vice President of North and East Texas Press Association (NETPA) a regional press association. He has served on this board member multiple times during his career. In April 2021 he will become President of the NETPA board.
“Words can’t express how honored I am to serve on both the state and regional boards of these press associations. To have the confidence from your peers to serve with them is very special to me,” Moore said.
Moore is not a novice in serving on various boards and committees in towns and communities where he has worked. He has served as Vice President for the Lindale Economic Development Corporation, President of the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce, Advisory Board member for Lindale’s Master Plan, board member for the regional Better Business Bureau in Tyler and on the Advisor Board for Tyler Pipe to name a few.
