TYLER –Troopers responded to a two vehicle fatal crash on SH-64, two miles from the city of Henderson in Rusk County at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Department of Public Safety statement.
According to a preliminary crash investigation indicates that the driver of a 2011 Isuzu Flatbed, Christopher Blake Taliaferro, 32, of Laneville had been traveling east and was attempting to make a left turn into a private driveway when it was struck from behind by the driver of a 2015 Acura TLX, April Marie Cameron, 40, of Kilgore.
DPS said that Cameron was pronounced at the scene by Judge Jana Enloe and taken to Garmin Funeral Home in Henderson.
Taliaferro was not shown to have been injured because of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
Also on Tuesday, Troopers responded to a one vehicle fatal crash on River Road, approximately 1.8 miles south of the city of Big Sandy in Upshur County shortly after 7 p.m.
According to a DPS report, preliminary information indicates that the driver of a 1966 Dodge Charger, James Samuel Cabaniss, 57, of Winona was traveling southbound on River Road at an unsafe speed around a left hand curve in the roadway.
The vehicle left the road to the right and struck a tree.
The unrestrained driver was transported to UT-Health North Tyler were he was pronounced a short time later. The crash remains under investigation.
