The City of Overton will hold its annual Fireworks in the Park Festival on from 3 p.m. to dark July 4, with the fireworks show starting at dark.
The City invites the public to the event for family fun, food and children’s activities in the Overton Municipal Park located at the end of Lakeshore Drive.
City of Overton has long been known to have one of the best and longest lasting fireworks shows in East Texas, and this year’s is expected to run even longer than in the past.
The festival will have several food, craft and other vendors in the upper parking area across from the Golf Course and Park.
The City would like to draw the public’s attention to the new playground equipment recently installed in the City Park funded by the Overton Municipal Development District, there will be inflatables and children’s activities in the park for the festival.

Also, The North Lake Dam/ Spillway and repairs project on the lower portion of the Overton Lake which has had to be drained since 2016, is well underway with expected substantial completion by December 2019 at which point the lower lake may be refilled and restocked for public fishing.
Finally, the City of Overton officials are excited to announce the collaborated efforts between the City and Jason and Sharon Ramono of High Hill Farm to reopen the old Overton Golf Course which closed last October. The Golf Course and Club House have both been refurbished and will have an open house for the Golf Course Club House during the Fireworks Festival with its new name of High Hill Golf Course.
