Local artists of all types get your cameras, sketchbooks, and canvases ready. Lake Striker Resort will be hosting the first of what they hope will become an annual art and photo contest.

Participating artists will be expected to submit their entries into the seven categories beginning August 19, 2021, up to no later than August 21, 2021, during Lake Striker Restaurant hours. No late entries will be accepted.

Entries must be displayed on a floor easel to be supplied by the artist and have an attached index card detailing the type of art exhibited with the artist’s name and contact information on the back.

“We will have 7 winners, one for each category,” said Edith Nicol Fudge, Lake Striker’s Marketing Director. “We at Lake Striker Resort are excited to see the art that will be displayed. Lake Striker is a peaceful, beautiful lake.”

The available categories include; black and white photography, original photography and enhanced or filtered photography, oil, watercolor, and acrylic paintings of any size, and charcoal or pencil drawings. All artwork should depict the lake and/or the resort.

Winners will be chosen at 1 p.m., August 29, and artists must be present to win. The winner’s artwork will be displayed at Striker Restaurant for one year, with the artist’s permission, and trophies will be awarded.

As an added Lake Striker bonus for 2021, vendors hoping to set up at any of the Trade Days from February to May can do so without a booth fee.

Vendor forms must be submitted for each month, and the types of items sold must be approved. Food items are not allowed unless they are commercially packaged. Spots with electrical access are limited.

The necessary forms can be picked up at the Lake Striker Resort General Store or for more information, call Edith Fudge at 281-703-3739 or email at lakestrikerresort@gmail.com.
