Hearts of Henderson will be holding a food drive to support Henderson Interchurch Ministry (HIM) in their endeavor to feed needy families during the upcoming holiday season. 

Volunteers affiliated with the Hearts of Henderson group will be leaving bags with lists of suggested food items on porches throughout Henderson neighborhoods, Saturday, November 7. They will return on Wednesday, November 11, to retrieve the bags, and any donated food items will be delivered to HIM. 

Volunteers are to meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church to get organized before heading out into the heart of Henderson. 

Food items suggested for this drive are:

Stuffing mix

Macaroni & cheese

Cornbread mix

Peanut butter

Canned or dry beans

Pasta or Rice

Oatmeal

Instant Potatoes 

Canned Pumpkin

Canned cranberry sauce

Canned fruit

  - Pears

  - Peaches

  - Pineapple

  - Mandarin Oranges

Canned vegetables

  - Carrots

  - Corn

  - Green beans

  - Yams/Sweet potatoes

Canned soup

  - Cream of chicken

  - Cream of mushroom

  - Tomato

  - Chicken noodle
