Board-certified general surgeon Robert Buchanan, MD, FACS, has joined the staff of UT Health Henderson.
A native of East Texas, Buchanan is looking forward to helping the people of Henderson with their general surgery needs. “I strive to take the best care of my patients and put their needs first,” he said.
His family influenced his decision to pursue a career in medicine.
“I have several family members who work in healthcare. My great grandpa was a doctor, my uncle was a pharmacist and my other uncle was an obstetrician and gynecologist, so becoming a doctor was always something I wanted to do,” said Buchanan.
Buchanan earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and his doctor of medicine from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. In addition, he completed his general surgery internship and residency from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He sees patients at UT Health Henderson, 300 Wilson St., second floor. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 903-655-6536.
