The Henderson ISD Education Foundation awarded $25,000 in grants to teachers across Henderson ISD campuses Thursday.

Teachers submitted a grant application requesting funding for a creative classroom project. This year, 33 applications were received and 26 were fully funded. The HISD Education Foundation has been awarding teacher grants for 20 years and to-date has provided more than $575,000 to teachers at HISD.

“These grants provide funding above and beyond campus budgets and greatly impact the students of our community,” said HISD Education Foundation Executive Director Stacey Johnson.

An additional round of campus-wide grants will also be funded and awarded in August during the district’s back-to-school events.
